The Estero Historical Society Annual Tea Luncheon, themed “A Monet Afternoon,” was lavishly presented on March 2 at the beautiful Miromar Lakes Country Club. In addition to prizes for best hats and best centerpieces, there was a silent auction, an “Impressionists” auction (Chinese auction), as well as a live auction called by local favorite, Rick Gallo. A delicious lunch was served, and a miniature impressionist painting and easel were gifted to each attendee.

“Drive Out Hunger” was the golf-inspired theme for the Interfaith Charities of South Lee Annual Benefit Dinner, held on April 4 at the Grandezza Clubhouse. This event supports the Interfaith Charities Food Pantry and Outreach Agency, serving residents of Estero, San Carlos Park and South Fort Myers. Emceed by NBC-2 anchor Stacey Deffenbaugh, the evening included a silent auction, dinner and the annually anticipated, live Dessert Auction, facilitated by auctioneer Rick Gallo. The event raised a record-setting $101,000.

The 7th Annual Breaking Par at Grandezza gala, benefitting Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida, was held at the newly remodeled Grandezza Club House on March 21. The evening’s events, emceed by NBC-2 News anchor Rachel Pierce, included cocktails, a silent auction, dinner and a live auction. A special tribute was made to guest of honor, Jim Nathan, former President of Lee Health.
