The second annual Village of Estero Veterans Day program was held on November 17, 2018, at Estero Community Park, honoring all veterans, active military, first responders and Gold Star parents. Starting with the Estero High School ROTC presenting the colors, this high-paced celebration featured a military theme song tribute, a 21- gun salute and Taps, and a keynote address by Major General James Dozier. The highlight was patriotic and popular musical selections performed by Estero’s own Lindsey Graham.

Koreshan State Park Fifth Annual Family Halloween Festival

The Fifth Annual Family Halloween Festival took place at Koreshan State Park Oct. 27, giving local families an opportunity to dress up for some seasonal fun. The festival included a costume contest, “trunk-or-treat” by local businesses and hayrides through the historic Koreshan Settlement.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Hundreds of Lee and Collier County residents united with the American Cancer Society for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Miromar Outlets Oct. 20. The event included live entertainment, a spirit station, kids activities, a Survivor Lap and plenty of pink! This annual walk raises awareness and funds to help with innovative research, to provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or detect it early when it’s most treatable. From the opening ceremony to the post-walk entertainment, the Making Strides event at Miromar Outlets is a celebration of survivors and opportunity to remember loved ones lost.
