Frances Borshell is a dreamer — and a doer! A wellness advocate who spent years studying the interconnectivity of mindfulness, health and personal development, Borshell is seeing a longtime dream come true with the opening of The Grounding Spot in Coconut Point Mall. It is designed to help people unwind, recharge, and ultimately, thrive.

In this month’s cover story, we explore this comprehensive mental wellness destination. It’s the realization of Borshell’s dream to make mental fitness as accessible as a visit to the gym is for physical fitness. The idea is to maintain mental wellness before stress becomes overwhelming. The Grounding Spot adds a new layer to Estero’s growing reputation as a hub for healthcare and wellness.

Some dreams take a long time to come to realization. Such is the case for “Caitlin’s Star,” an interactive children’s picture book which was recently published by Estero resident Nancy Range Anderson. The idea stemmed from a conversation Anderson had with her daughter, Caitlin, following the death of a grandparent nearly 40 years ago.

Her children’s story remained “tucked in the drawer” for nearly four decades but is now in print and helping children, families, and even adults, process the impact of love, loss and remembrance after a loved one passes. I wonder how many of us have similar dreams and projects lying in the wings, waiting for completion? Perhaps it’s time to make those dreams a reality.

Another Southwest Florida family is now “living the dream” by running a restaurant together that has a unique concept celebrating their Cuban and Spanish heritage. ChaChaCha Fusion Cuban Cuisine, located in The Strand in North Naples, transports us to the streets of Havana, where Amel Fernandez was raised. His parents ran a restaurant right from their home. His parents are now here in Naples with his mother serving as ChaChaCha’s head chef, while his father runs the front of the house.

“This is a dream for us!” Amel told us when we visited for our dining review. Only open since early February, ChaChaCha is already destined to become a local favorite with its delightful array of Spanish/Cuban fusion cuisine. If you go, make room for the tres leches cake topped with a beautiful dollop of fresh cream! Sabrosa!

I’ll close with a longtime dream for our community. Before the Village of Estero was even incorporated, engaged citizens envisioned and planned for

enhanced recreational areas for our residents. This month’s Village Connection provides an update on the progress of the Estero Sports Park and High 5 entertainment facility. The Village is taking more steps to fulfill this longtime dream!

Happy Spring and a blessed Easter to all who “believe.” May the dreams deep down in your heart come true!

Until next month, remember to…

Enjoy the Good Life: Estero Life!!!
