The Village of Estero invites the entire community to come together for this year’s Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at Estero Community Park.

This special event is an opportunity to join members of the Village Council, staff and volunteers in expressing gratitude to the men and women who served our nation and safeguarded the freedoms we cherish today.

Event Highlights

This year’s program features inspiring tributes, live entertainment and family fun for all ages:

• Keynote address by Florida Rep. Mike Giallombardo, U.S. Army Veteran (Operation Iraqi Freedom)

• Musical performances by Mark Sanders of One Voice Entertaining (including the Armed Forces Medley), the New Horizons Children’s Choir, and the Estero High School Band

• Ceremonial presentations by the Estero High School JROTC and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Honor Guard

• Community displays and family activities including Estero Fire Rescue and LCSO vehicles and equipment, an American classic and muscle car and military vehicle show, appearances by Captain America and Too Tall Torrie, and face painting

• Finale featuring a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps”

Food & Refreshments

Enjoy FREE hot dogs, chips and water, prepared and served by members of the Tidewater Veterans Group and Community. Bring your family, friends and neighbors — plus a blanket or lawn chair to relax during the celebration. (Please note: pets are not permitted.)

Volunteers make community events possible

The Village of Estero operates under a “government lite” staffing model, designed to maximize efficiency and keep costs low. Because of this, community partnerships and volunteer support are essential to the success of Village events.

We are grateful to the many organizations lending their time and talents to this year’s Veterans Day Celebration, including: Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Parks & Recreation, Estero Fire Rescue, Estero High School Band and JROTC, Tidewater Veterans Group and Community, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Estero church groups, Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce, Engage Estero, Estero Forever Foundation, Estero Historical Society, Estero Life Magazine and Estero Rotary Club.

The Village of Estero deeply appreciates the efforts of volunteers and community partners, whose dedication helps bring our celebrations to life.
