Village of Estero Veterans Day Celebration is November 11, 2023

The Village of Estero welcomes everyone to attend this year’s Veterans Day celebration at Estero Community Park on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come join Village of Estero Council, staff and volunteers in saying “thank you” to those who served our great nation and helped preserve and protect the freedoms we all enjoy today.

This year’s event offers free food, fun and entertainment for everyone!

The celebration will feature a patriotic concert by nationally recognized concert artist Lindsey Graham, including the National Anthem and an Armed Forces Medley. The New Horizons Children’s Choir will also be performing. Additional Armed Forces presentations will be performed by the Estero High School JROTC and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.  Estero Fire Rescue and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office will have vehicles and additional assets on hand. The event will also feature an American classic and muscle car display* and a kids’ zone with bounce house, games and face painting.

There will be FREE hot dogs, chips and refreshments provided by the Village of Estero and served by members of the Tidewater Veterans group and community. The finale of the event will feature a 21-gun salute, playing of “Taps” and the patriotic concert.

Presenters for this event are Pastor Kevin Morris (Estero Community Church), Donald Wiseman (Korean War veteran), Jon McLain (Estero mayor and U.S. Army veteran), Dr. Debi Lux (co-founder of Collier-Lee Honor Flight and U.S. Navy veteran), Katy Errington (former mayor and Gold Star mom), and Rafael Lopez (Estero councilmember and U.S. Marine Corps veteran).

Bring the whole family, your friends and neighbors, and a blanket or chair to relax on during the celebration.

The Village of Estero operates under a government lite staffing model, meaning there is a very limited staff to control costs and maximize operational efficiencies of each department.

The Village is fortunate to have many organizations that are willing to help organize and staff community events. The following organizations have volunteered to assist with the Veterans Day event: Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Parks & Recreation, Estero Fire Rescue, Estero High School JROTC, Tidewater Veterans Group and Community, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Estero church groups, Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce, Engage Estero, Estero Forever Foundation, Estero Historical Society, Estero Life Magazine and Estero Rotary Club.

The Village of Estero appreciates the efforts of our community’s many dedicated volunteers.
