In this first full month of Spring, as our seasonal residents slowly return to their homes up north, we locals can begin to find the time and space to enjoy our paradise!!

It’s the time of year when the ‘boys of summer’ break camp and head back to their home stadiums in Minnesota, Boston and New York. We always enjoy having them so up close and personal.

The grueling NCAA basketball tournaments have ended and the Spring Breakers have returned to their classrooms.

Now it’s our turn to flex our muscles and get up and get out!! Check out our ‘Happenings’ for great ideas to get involved.

For great family fun, it’s also the time when our Florida Everblades head into the ECHL playoffs. Our first-place Blades could have a serious chance to take the Kelly Cup.  Go Blades!!!

Another choice for fun throughout the summer is to head out to Hammond Stadium, the finest Spring Training facility in baseball, to enjoy an exciting baseball game featuring the Ft. Myers Miracle.  Everblades and Miracle…Fun for all ages!!

The Village of Estero has just completed its 2nd year of ‘Village-hood’ and we will learn who has been selected to serve as mayor for the next two years. Any guesses????

It’s no secret about the national and local efforts to encourage all of us to adopt a more healthy lifestyle. Learn more about the Blue Zones project geared to healthy longevity.

It’s always fun and interesting to profile an individual that is having an impact on the area. We are proud to introduce you to Logan Roe, defenseman for the Florida Everblades, who is a local talent making a tremendous contribution to the Blades, on and off the ice. We wish Logan and the team much success in the chase for the ECHL title.

In this issue we are introducing a new quarterly feature on travel. Logan Peters is the contributor for this first piece on Prague. We welcome your comments and opinions.

This month’s dining feature introduces Estero to Trattoria Mia in south Lee County along the Daniels Pkwy corridor. Not only an easy drive, but a delicious treat!  Being a small restaurant (that’s what Trattoria means) we suggest reservations.

A grateful thank you to our newest advertising partners this year: Genova, Select Real Estate, Blue Zones, Pest Max, Bonita Boarding Kennel & Pet Camp, Alan Hase/ReMax & Ellenbecker Investment Group, Inc., And we certainly appreciate our long-standing advertising partners. We encourage our readers to support these local businesses who ensure that you receive Estero Life Magazine each month.

So, until next month
