How SWEET it is!

Gary Israel
This month, we continue to highlight the attributes that contribute to the Village of Estero growing into the “sweet spot” of Southwest Florida.
But first, I would like to acknowledge Estero’s oldest restaurant, Ristorante Farfalla. I congratulate my friend, neighbor and Chef-owner Michael Fattah on celebrating his 27th anniversary in the Publix Plaza at the corner of U.S. 41 and Corkscrew Road. Michael’s tireless efforts to provide elegant fine dining to our community is exemplary, in spite of COVID and hurricanes that have provided major challenges in recent years. We wish him continued sweet success!
I scream! You scream! We all scream for ICE CREAM!!
Our “sweet” cover story this month showcases the newest ice cream locations within the Village of Estero: Paradise Scoops and Royal Scoop. When a community attracts not one, but two ice cream shops, we must be doing something right! We invite you to read about the many unique flavors and specialties both of these new additions to Estero offer, and meet the owners behind their early successes — just in time for Valentine’s Day. How sweet it is!
And speaking of sweet, at the end of 2024, it was announced that national credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings assigned a bond rating of “AAA” to the Village of Estero. This month’s Village Connection reviews the meaning behind the significance of such a designation and the value and financial impact to our community. We congratulate the Village staff on their efforts to secure this designation, making Estero one of only seven cities in the state of Florida to do so.
Our dining review this month uncovers an amazing boutique eatery, Blanc. And there is nothing sweeter than the crème brûlée and chocolate mousse duo which provided a delightful ending our visit. We invite you to experience their memorable global cuisine as we share our favorites. Mangia Bene!
More sweet surprises await at three upcoming events, featured in our Happenings this month: Coconut Point Art Festival, the Estero Historical Society Jazz Fundraiser, and the Engage Estero Don Eslick Person of the Year Award Dinner, honoring Joe and Joni Pavich. Also check out the Scene on Site gallery from Pedal for a Purpose.
How sweet it is to be part of such a caring and committed community!
Until next time, remember to…
Enjoy the Good Life, Estero Life!!
