Come out to Living Waters Church to enjoy a fun day of exercise while working to eradicate child sex trafficking. The Fourth Annual Run 4 The Cause, a 5k Fun Run & Walk, benefits Christy’s Cause, a nonprofit organization which has a heart for helping child victims of sex trafficking.

Run 4 The Cause will include a competitive, timed 5k run and a relaxing non-timed walk. The 5k happens at 7:30 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 8:15 a.m., where the top overall male and female runners, top boys and girls (age 6-12), and top males and females in each age group will receive medals.

At 9 a.m., the walk begins. Walkers will have opportunities to win prize giveaways as they enjoy a leisurely stroll. During the event, Starbucks will be serving complimentary coffee and tea. There will also be a variety of local food vendors.

Online registration is $35; race day registration will be $40. For families or groups, each additional participant will receive a $5 discount.

Last year, Run 4 The Cause raised over $50,000; the goal for this year is $60,000 and 500 participants.

THE CAUSE

Founded by Living Waters Pastor Christy Ivie, Christy’s Cause is a nonprofit organization which aims to eradicate child sex trafficking by increasing education, raising public awareness, running restoration projects, and sparking justice initiatives. Christy’s Cause partners with organizations which help minors who are victims of sexual abuse. The organization advocates for these victims and invites the community to join in the fight for those who aren’t able to defend themselves.
