Join local author Dana Eikenberg at South County Regional Library on Sept. 12 for a special storytime featuring her book, “Hank the Brave,” a heartfelt (and slightly funny) story about a big boxer dog who freezes over something very small. Hank the Brave is a story about fear, love and the moments that don’t look heroic from the outside, but matter deeply on the inside. Through Hank’s journey, kids discover that being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared—it means you feel safe enough to try.

Before becoming an author, Dana, a Bonita Springs resident, competed as a high-level athlete, earned her master’s degree, and built her career around leadership, performance, and meaningful connections. Her experiences in sports, coaching, and entrepreneurship taught her that courage often looks different from what people expect. For Dana and her family, Hank wasn’t just a pet. He became a reminder that fear can show up quietly, in the smallest moments, and that love often makes bravery possible.

This special visit includes an interactive read-aloud and simple, engaging activities that help kids connect to courage in their own way. Books will be for sale by the author.
