The Saloon steak and seafood restaurant in the Coconut Shopping Center has won two SWFL Palm Awards.

Beverage manager John Tucker, an eight-year Culinary Concepts veteran and member of the team that developed the 36-page craft cocktail menu at The Saloon was named Best Bartender, and The Saloon was awarded Best Craft Cocktail program.

“I am very proud of The Saloon’s original recipe craft cocktails and homemade aqua frescas,” says Tucker, noting the award-winning cocktail list ranges from martinis and mules to margaritas and whiskey sours, 50 original craft cocktails and over 40 drat or bottled beers, a fine wine list and 150 spirits.

“It’s a great win for the entire team and I’m grateful for all the fan support in Southwest Florida,” he adds.

The SWFL Palm Awards, hosted by Beasley Media Group’s B103.9FM Jason Jones (aka Big Mama) featured more than 70 categories showcasing the very best of what Southwest Florida offers according to its website.

“As a resident and radio personality of City of Palms for over a decade, I thought it was more than due for me to have my own awards show,” said Jones. “I am beyond thrilled to be able to celebrate and support the local businesses that our community loves. This is Southwest Florida’s Official Community Choice Awards.”
Nominations were accepted last fall and voting took place throughout November and December as locals voted for their favorites with one winner announced per category as top vote getter.
