The Estero Houses of Worship joined together for an hour of directed prayer during lunch hour on May 2 as part of the National Day of Prayer, an annual event held on the first Thursday of May at public venues all across America. This year’s theme, “Love One Another,” comes from Jesus’ words recorded in John 13:34. The Estero event was held at Living Waters Church and included prayers for government officials at the local, regional, state and national levels — from President Donald Trump all the way down to Estero’s village manager and seven council members. Segments were led by representatives of various Estero congregations. Sponsoring churches included Christ Community Ministries, Estero United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church Estero, Hope United Presbyterian Church, Legacy Church, Living Waters Church, Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, River of Life Church, Summit Church, Thrive Church and Vineyard Church of Estero.
