On Friday, April 5, 2019, the West Bay Community Charitable Foundation (WBCCF) held its annual grant reception. Twenty-six Lee and Collier County non-profit organizations received financial support from the Foundation.
Glen Harper, WBCCF Board member, headed this year’s grant-making process and along with Foundation treasurer, Frank Pollard, presented checks at the reception to this year’s recipients totaling $122,542. All West Bay residents were invited to attend the reception to hear firsthand the needs of children and families in Lee and Collier County.
According to Foundation President Anne Haley, “West Bay residents have given generously to the Foundation again this year.” They do this through individual donations and through special events like the golf tournament headed by Wayne Smith, and an auction and golf ball drop headed by Gail Chensoff.
Since its start five years ago, the Foundation has contributed a total of $454, 942 to local SW Florida non-profits through the grant process. Additional funds are raised each Fall for special holiday drives. Anne Haley notes that “the giving season at West Bay is 12 months a year.”
Our mission is to share the values and goodwill of the West Bay Club Community. We focus on strengthening and supporting local families and children in need by awarding grants and gifts to selected 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. Each year we endow a scholarship at Florida Gulf Coast University going to a first generation college student.
