SUMMARY:Sizzle Dining 2026
DESCRIPTION:Sizzle Dining celebrates its 10th anniversary this September with 140 participating restaurants offering specially priced\, curated menus throughout Charlotte\, Lee and Collier counties. Founded in Naples by Guy Clarke\, the monthlong event began as a one-week promotion at about 20 restaurants and has since grown to span the region from Babcock Ranch to Marco Island. This year’s theme\, “Save. Support. Celebrate.\,” invites diners to save on a great meal\, support local restaurants during one of the hospitality industry’s slowest months and celebrate a decade of the program. For every Sizzle Dining meal sold\, $1 is donated to the Florida chapter of Blessings in a Backpack\, which provides weekend and summer meals to food-insecure elementary school students. A full list of participating restaurants and menus is available at sizzledining.org.

SUMMARY:Local Author Spotlight: Hank the Brave
DESCRIPTION:Local Author Spotlight: Hank the Brave \nDates: Saturday\, Sept. 12 \nTime: 11 a.m. \nPlace: South County Regional Library\, 21100 Three Oaks Parkway\, Estero \nMore info:  www.leegov.com/library \nJoin local author Dana Eikenberg at South County Regional Library on Sept. 12 for a special storytime featuring her book\, “Hank the Brave\,” a heartfelt (and slightly funny) story about a big boxer dog who freezes over something very small. Hank the Brave is a story about fear\, love and the moments that don’t look heroic from the outside\, but matter deeply on the inside. Through Hank’s journey\, kids discover that being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared—it means you feel safe enough to try.   \nBefore becoming an author\, Dana\, a Bonita Springs resident\, competed as a high-level athlete\, earned her master’s degree\, and built her career around leadership\, performance\, and meaningful connections. Her experiences in sports\, coaching\, and entrepreneurship taught her that courage often looks different from what people expect. For Dana and her family\, Hank wasn’t just a pet. He became a reminder that fear can show up quietly\, in the smallest moments\, and that love often makes bravery possible.  \nThis special visit includes an interactive read-aloud and simple\, engaging activities that help kids connect to courage in their own way. Books will be for sale by the author.
