The nationally recognized Louisville Slugger Warriors National Amputee Baseball Team will face off against the SWFL Naples All-Stars in an exciting doubleheader at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Admission is free\, though seating is limited\, so guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.  \nThe Team \nThe Louisville Slugger Warriors are a nationally sponsored competitive amputee baseball team consisting of U.S. Military Veterans\, Active Duty personnel\, Wounded Warriors and current and former amputee college baseball players. These highly skilled athletes play in national and regional baseball tournaments around the country and in special baseball game events\, all against-able bodied teams.   \nU.S. Army veteran and Estero resident David Van Sleet\, who serves as general manager\, thought baseball would be a great way to fulfill childhood dreams for veterans who lost limbs in service or through accidents or disease.  Athletic skill puts these players on the team\, but their passion keeps them there. The chemistry created by their shared bond adds magic to each and every Louisville Slugger Warriors game.

How does a rhythm\, a gesture or a harmonic cadence travel across the Atlantic and reappear a century later in an entirely new world? You’ll find out. \nImprovisation abounds as this multimedia performance reveals hidden musical connections across time\, geography and culture. American music emerges as a quintessential expression of the New World — vibrant\, multicultural\, rebellious and original — while the Old World reveals itself as an unexpected laboratory for musical disruption. \nNarrative Musicales is presented in collaboration with Grand Piano Series\, an indepdendent nonprofit organization. \nKonstantin Soukhovetski\nKonstantin Soukhovetski is a pianist\, composer and educator recognized for his distinctive concert programming and multimedia performances. A laureate of 17 international competitions\, he has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center\, Wigmore Hall and The Louvre\, performing in recital and with orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. Recent highlights include a Scotland tour with Absolute Classics and appearances at PianoFête in Vashon\, Washington. \nAs director of education and community engagement at Grand Piano Series\, Soukhovetski curates the series’ Narrative Musicales—multimedia programs that combine live music\, storytelling and visual elements—and oversees Grand Piano Series’ educational and outreach initiatives with schools and seniors in Lee and Collier counties. \nBeyond the piano\, his work includes composition\, libretti and interdisciplinary collaborations in dance and film. His recording\, Yuliya: Forgotten Songs of Julie Weissberg Rimsky-Korsakov\, with soprano Sarah Moulton-Faux\, was released on Azica Records. He is a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammy) and serves on the faculty of The Juilliard School. Born in Moscow to a family of prominent artists\, he studied piano and composition at the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. DESCRIPTION:Visit the Cottage for a Pop-Up Porch Sale featuring designer handbags from $25-$200 at the Estero Historical Society Cottage! \nCome by the Porch on Thursday\, July 30 or Saturday\, Aug. 1\, 2026 between 10 am – 2 pm to check out a beautiful selection of designer handbags to benefit the Estero Historical Society. The cottage is located within the Estero Park & Recreation Center property at 9285 Corkscrew Palms Blvd. We even have our own parking spots! \nCome by on Saturday\, and you can also tour the historic buildings and peruse the gift shop. \nThe Estero Historical Society is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of our unique greater Estero area\, and depends on volunteers and donations for projects such as the relocation and restoration of the Alvarez/Smith Home.
