Walk Your Way to Wellbeing
April 16, 2018 @ 6:00 pmFree
Join Blue Zones Project® for the 2nd Annual National Walking Day event at Florida Gulf Coast University on April 16. The event kicks off with a talk from Blue Zones Project Co-Founder Dan Buettner at Alico Arena.
Buettner, a New York Times bestselling author, will share lessons from around the world on how to live a longer, healthier, happier life. Following the program and a Q&A with Buettner, Blue Zones Project will celebrate National Walking Day by hosting a walk around campus. Join a walking group, receive a free T-shirt, try plant-based food tastings and win prizes – including copies of Dan Buettner’s new book, “Blue Zones of Happiness”! The event is free for all participants.
Blue Zones Project® is a community-led well-being improvement initiative designed to make healthy choices easier through permanent changes to a city’s environment, policy, and social networks. Established in 2010, Blue Zones Project is inspired by Dan Buettner, who identified five regions of the world—or Blue Zones—with the highest concentration of people living to 100 years or older.
