Presentation: History of the Calusa Indians

February 25 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

$15

Back by popular demand! The History of the Calusa speaker series sponsored by the Estero Historical Society was so well received last year that it has returned for 2023. Journey back 10,000 years and meet The Calusa – People of the Estuary.  Learn about Southwest Florida’s early yet advanced society; their profound connection with our waters, their disappearance from physical record, and the significant discovery and local preservation efforts of the tribe.

Local historian, Jacob Winge is a fifth generation Floridian who has been presenting living history reenactments and other types of historical programs since he was twelve.  His expert presentations are known for their ability to bring history to life for audiences of all ages. Admission is $15 and attendees are asked to pre-register online, as continental breakfast will be served.
