Family Initiative Redefining Autism Speaker Series

Family Initiative, an autism and child welfare community service organization based in Cape Coral, Florida, is hosting a speaker series focused on Redefining Autism this fall.

On Friday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m., Dr. Michael Morrier will be presenting on how the diagnosis, treatment and conversation about autism has been redefined over the years. Morrier serves on the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) Quality Measurement Provider Panel (QMPP). Morrier has a wide-ranging publication record related to social treatments for children with ASD and their same-aged neurotypical peers; his most recent publication (Increasing Social Interactions of Preschool Children with Autism through Cooperative Outdoor Play) was accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of The Journal of Special Education.

Free and open to the public, the event will be held at the Family Initiative Autism Center, 734 SW 4th St. in Cape Coral. Registration is requested by emailing info@fi-florida.org.
