Citizen Science Program at Koreshan State Park

June 14, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

For the first time ever, Citizen Science Programs will be offered at Koreshan State Park.

Citizen Science utilizes public involvement to collect and interpret results for specifically focused scientific questions. Every Tuesday in June, Koreshan State Park will host four programs all supporting established research projects: June 7: GPS Gopher Tortoise Burrows; June 14: Invasives;  June 21: Birding; June 28: OE Infestation of Monarch Butterflies.

Each Citizen Science Session is held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Koreshan State Park. The first 20 minutes will be a short talk on the topic of the day and the remaining time will be spent in data collection practice.  Please bring water, wear a hat and proper walking shoes. The Citizen Science experience, recommended for ages 16 and above, is free with park entry fee. Attendance will be limited to 12 people per session and registration is required at www.eventbrite.com.  Be a true citizen scientist and attend all four sessions! If you do, you will receive a recognition certificate and pin for your accomplishment. See you at the Koreshan State Park!
