3rd ANNUAL PEDAL FOR A PURPOSE

The Third Annual Pedal for a Purpose is being held on Friday, Jan. 10. It’s an exciting event that raises money for a cause which touches so many – cancer care.
Lee Health staff, their families and members of the community may participate as part of pre-registered teams. Each member has a chance to ride the stationary bicycles – pedaling for as long (or short) as they want – to raise money for the Lee Health Cancer Institute and Cancer Support Community Fund.
Last year, Pedal for a Purpose raised $34,785 – critical funds that made a real impact in community health and wellness education. This year, teams are pedaling toward a $50,000 goal to bring even more life-changing cancer support to the community. Funds raised support care beyond medical needs, including wigs and other non-medical necessities.
The atmosphere in the solarium at Lee Health Coconut Point will be energetic – a DJ will spin tunes as spectators cheer on their favorite team. Many riders get creative with team costumes and names. The 2025 event will include nearly 50 teams with close to 200 riders. It is free for the public to watch, with donations encouraged.
There are many ways to show support – cheer on the teams and donate in person, or visit the fundraising website for donations and event information: p2p.onecause.com/pedalforapurpose.
New for this year’s event is an After-Ride Pedal Party at event sponsor Oak & Stone in Estero from 9:30-11 p.m. Participants and spectators are invited to unwind after the evening’s excitement. There will be raffles for gift cards and late-night happy hour deals for partygoers.
