More than $35,000 was raised during the fourth annual fundraiser at Shadow Wood Country Club benefitting the culinary, performing and fine arts programs at Estero High School. Evening Under the Shadow Wood was held Dec.16, 2019. Culinary students demonstrated their cooking skills while the 170 guests viewed student artwork and enjoyed chamber music performed by students. Dinner featured filet mignon with truffle mushroom sauce, a signature salad and a trio dessert.

A live auction was conducted by auctioneer Rick Gallo and NBC-2 anchor Rachel Pierce. Since 2016, the funds generated from this event have transformed the EHS culinary arts program and facilities. Students participate in events throughout the community and earn top honors at state competitions. This annual fundraiser is led by Village Council member Nick Batos, who serves as liaison to Lee County Schools.
