Never thought I would say, “Sure glad it’s September!” After all, September is typically the hottest month of the year. After August, if it is, we are in serious trouble! Let’s all pray that God sends us a little relief from the excessive heat and humidity we suffered through last month.
This month we are making two new introductions.
First we would like to introduce the Village of Estero’s newest Councilman, Jon McLain, representing District 3, replacing the late Don Brown. Jon has jumped right into the mix agreeing to (among other things) take the lead on Estero’s first ever Veteran’s Day celebration as well as plans for a village-wide celebration for next year’s 4th of July. We are wishing Jon all the best as he works for the betterment of the Village of Estero.
Secondly, we want to introduce the newest component of the Estero Chamber of Commerce – the Estero Young Professionals Network (YPN). Help us to welcome these young leaders into the fold of Estero business.
With students of every age returning to their respective schools this past month, it’s time to take a look at our schools in Estero to find out what changes have been made and the outlook on the new school year. We are excited to see what will come from an emerging partnership between the Village and the School District of Lee County.
And, we spent some time touring the first new hotel opening in Estero in quite some time – the new Towneplace Suites by Marriott on Via Coconut. Another convenient location for out of town visitors and business travelers, as well as local groups looking for meeting space.
Our dining feature lies right in the heart of Estero within Miromar Outlets. We delighted in the many offerings of Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi. The ‘hibachi-style’ cooking is quite entertaining!
This month’s ‘Village Connection” reveals the exciting changes planned for the I-75/Corkscrew interchange. Traffic relief is on its way!
Rounding out September are your favorites: Happenings, Best Bets, Village Life and our quarterly wine column.
Always remember…Life is GOOD!
