Shake your pompoms for Autism Speaks! That is how the crowd gathered for the Autism Speaks Walk demonstrated its enthusiasm, rather than clapping or cheering. It was a nod to anyone who is sensitive and an acknowledgement that everyone at this friendly event is supportive. There was a great turnout at Estero Community Park on Oct. 5 to walk, laugh and participate in this far-reaching event. Vendors set up booths, and people came from all over Southwest Florida to support Autism Speaks. This nonprofit organization works to create a more accepting and rewarding environment for people with autism while providing resources and funding education and diagnostics.
